FUNDRAISER FOR 5 POINTS MUSIC SANCTUARY AND THE RIVES THEATRE
There is something really special about our little venue that could. You can feel it when you walk in the room. We work daily to keep the energy positive and vibe happy, to create only the best musical experiences. 5 Points Music Sanctuary might be one man’s vision, but everyone in the room contributes their part to making the magic happen.
We are so honored that our local music community has come together for a Band Jam to support our Foundation and The Sanctuary itself. Great things are happening here and we need all of you to keep the momentum going. Blue Mule, The Dead Reckoning, Elise & The Grease, and GOTE will all play sets along with some extra characters like Isaac Hadden, Brittany Sparks and Tom Snediker hopping on and off the stage. Maybe even an All Star Jam! Please join us for this special Wednesday evening show. Doors open at 5:00pm and the music will start at 6:00.
Let us know you’re coming by purchasing your tickets today. No guest list for this one. It is a fundraiser after all. Show your local music scene some LOVE!
This is an EARLY event with doors opening at 6:30pm.
GLOBAL USHER SYNDROME AWARENESS DAY
Usher Syndrome is the leading cause of deafblindness. More than 400,000 people are affected by this disorder worldwide and there is currently no cure. 5 Points Music Foundation is proud to be a part of Global Usher Syndrome Awareness Day on September 21st. This day falls near the autumnal equinox in the northern hemisphere, marking the start of days that contain more darkness than light – a powerful metaphor for the threat of Usher syndrome and why we “Own the Equinox” each year at this time. In addition to a performance from guitar master Ana Popovic, we will be announcing our new initiative providing families dealing with this condition an opportunity to take the trip of a lifetime.
“Within the last year, our children have both been diagnosed with Usher 1B, currently an untreatable and incurable genetic disorder that leads to blindness. With the path that lies ahead, we are launching a program that will provide unique travel experiences to families with Usher Syndrome in an effort to visit and see the wonders of our world through unique travel experiences,” said Tyler Godsey, Director/Founder of 5 Points Music Foundation. “We aim to provide funding for families to see, hear, and feel the magic of the world around us through travel. Our first travel experience will look to take 2 families on a trip to see the Northern Lights in early 2020 during the peak viewing season.”
A fund is being setup to facilitate this initiative and will be launched during our upcoming concert with Ana Popovic. Please join us as we support Usher Syndrome Awareness Day at 5 Points Music Sanctuary.
